A moody afternoon at peak autumn color along the Upper Roaring Fork of the Colorado River is captured along the Rio Grande trail in Aspen’s Henry Stein Park. This popular area is a starting point for rafting trips during Spring runoff and a beloved stretch of trail for short nature walks and bicycle rides throughout the season. It was my goal to capture the beauty of the river along with a broad variety of fall color. Intermittent rain had left the glacially deposited granite boulders glistening while the vibrant colors of a variety of tree species paints the background with a rich palette.
