Overview- Far from the crowds and traffic of summer visitors, Yellowstone National Park becomes a quiet and serene winter wonderland under the blanket of fresh Rocky Mountain snow. Experience Yellowstone in a way few others do with virtual solitude and exceptional wildlife encounters from the comfort of a highly specialized luxury snowcoach! In the winter season, all but one road is closed to private vehicle traffic allowing us to photograph from the snow covered roads without absurd aggregations of tourists. Our tour is limited to only 5 participants so we can move and organize effortlessly ensuring we have the best opportunities to capture truly magical images. Each day we will spend 8+ hours touring the snow covered roads searching for wildlife and exploring the geothermal features that make Yellowstone the world renown destination it is known to be!

Our Winter Yellowstone tour is based from the Starlite Yellowstone, a Tapestry Collection Hotel by Hilton, in West Yellowstone, MT. Each morning we will meet in the lobby to board our snow coach. One hour will be reserved for image editing and review on the 2nd and 3rd nights in a hotel meeting room.  

Who is this tour for?- Anyone who is keenly interested in photographing the winter landscapes and wildlife of Yellowstone National Park. Whether you are shooting with professional photography equipment or an iPhone you will have ample opportunity to get the most from your experience and return home with unforgettable memories.

Itinerary- The Winter Yellowstone Photography Tour is centered around 3 full days exploring the pristine scenery and dramatic wildlife encounters from the comfort of a specially converted private luxury Suburban. 

January 5- Meet in the hotel lobby at 6 PM for a drink and snack to meet other participants and receive your welcome briefing

January 6- 7 AM- 5 PM Snowcoach tour through Yellowstone National Park, We will drive through the Madison River Canyon where early morning light can be captured against the backdrop of a thermal landscape. Continuing to the Middle and Upper geyser basins we will look for wildlife, take short walks to explore thermal features, and witness Old Faithful erupt along with other possible geyser activity. Image editing and review session

January 7- Similar to Day One, we will explore a similar route while trying to improve upon our experience and capture even more compelling images of wildlife and the landscape.  Image editing and review session

January 8- Our final Snowcoach tour through Yellowstone National Park, we leave at 7 am sharp and head to Canyon Village and Yellowstone Falls. Fresh scenery will reignite our creativity as well as offering some new wildlife encounters. As we head back we will explore the Norris Geyser Basin, a quieter and more wild area with similar geology to the Old Faithful area.  The tour wraps up when we return to the lodge and say our goodbyes.

• Full payment for this tour is due 90 days prior to the workshop start date

• 120 days or more- Full refund minus a $250 cancellation fee

• 60-119 days- 50% refund

• 59 days or less- no refund

*If you cancel and we are able to find a replacement for your space we will issue a full refund minus the $250 cancellation fee
